THE GAA’S Central Council is unlikely to be called on again to make a policy decision on the use of Croke Park for rugby or soccer similar to weekend decision on a possible Heineken Cup semi-final involving Munster.

Under the existing agreement with the IRFU, three further internationals will be played in the stadium next year (against Scotland, Italy and Wales) and after that the Association’s current policy in relation to the use of the ground for sports other than Gaelic games will expire.

FAI needs will depend on whether they require Croke Park for a World Cup play-off in November. As things stand, the Ireland will play three qualifiers at GAA HQ this year against Bulgaria, Italy and Montenegro.
