MUNSTER rugby player Mike Prendergast has been invited to join the Limerick senior football panel.

Football Board PRO John Ryan confirmed that Prendergast is being considered by Liam Kearns.

“Mike won a county U21 football medal with Na Piarsaigh so he is not new to the game.

Limerick play Carlow in a challenge at the Gaelic Grounds on Thursday.

Meanwhile, dual players Stephen Lucey and Conor Fitzgerald could be in action twice in 24 hours next month.

The hurlers play the first of their All-Ireland qualifiers on June 18, with the footballers scheduled to meet the winners of Kerry and Tipperary, on June 19. County board chairman Denis Holmes said that while the dual player issue had caused problems in the past, the managers had resolved such issues.
