Boost for clubs and counties as Gaelic Telecom set to expand
The announcement follows the significant growth in uptake of services at Gaelic Telecom which offers GAA supporters the opportunity to contribute to their local club or county’s fundraising activities while saving money on their business and home phone bills.
Already almost 1,000 clubs have signed up for the Gaelic Telecoms initiative which has the full support of the GAA. With the Gaelic Telecom initiative, 15% of each customers call charges are rebated to the club or county of choice of the customer.
Under the scheme GAA clubs at grassroots level can receive up to €9,000 per annum with no strings attached. These funds are donated while saving the customer between 20% and 50% on their own phone bill. In fact everytime a member or supporter picks up the phone they save money and their club/county gets money.
As well as the 40 jobs announced yesterday, Gaelic Telecom is also looking to recruit 50 staff immediately. These staff will be based in Dublin and around the country at a variety of levels, the roles to include County/Club/Business Co-ordinators in each of the 32 counties, Provincial Managers, Customer Service Teams, Telesales, Administrators, Internal Support Team, Telephone Account Executives for County/Club/Business/ co-ordination, Business Development Managers and Human Resource Managers.
