Premier County legend Eoin Kelly been appointed manager of the Tipperary minor hurlers.

The All-Ireland winning forward has previously been involved on coaching teams with the county's senior hurlers, as well as the Waterford set-up.

“That level of experience combined with his knowledge of Tipperary hurling and his understanding of what is required to perform at the highest level will be invaluable as he takes on responsibility for the county’s minor hurling team," a Tipperary GAA statement reads.

“The minor grade represents an important stage in the development of young Tipperary hurlers and Eoin will place a strong emphasis on helping players develop both individually and collectively while preparing them for the demands of inter county hurling.

“Tipperary GAA would also like to thank all those who expressed an interest in the position and submitted applications. The quality and calibre of the applicants reflected the strong level of commitment to the development of Tipperary hurling and Tipperary GAA appreciates the time and effort involved in the process."

Kelly’s management team will be confirmed in due course, county chiefs say.

Senior boss, Liam Cahill has made several changes to his backroom team for the 2027 season, it was confirmed last night, meanwhile.
