This is why we can’t have nice things. On the northside of Dublin city last Saturday, less than three kilometres apart, the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) and The Camogie Association (CA) hosted their respective All-Star awards.

Booked for the same night, there wasn’t a hope of one of them switching so that the best in both could be receive optimum recognition for their achievements during the year. No, the same stubbornness that has defined their relationship over the years was again on show as they cast shade over each other’s limelight.
