Given the weekend that was in it, it’s only fair that we acknowledge the words as well as the genius of Jack O’Connor and that if we’ve been in the business of knocking something, we should be as quick to build it up when merited.

For a gauge of where Gaelic football is at, the All Ireland quarter-final stage since its inception has been as good as any.
