Three of the big All-Ireland contenders are in provincial championship action this weekend, against teams that will really fancy their chances which brings an edge and plenty of interest to proceedings. While it is early days in the bigger picture, key indicators will emerge today and tomorrow that will shape these rivals for the bigger challenges that lie ahead.

There is no denying how impressive Donegal have been so far this season. They have the look and momentum of a team that could win everything. They are building steadily and are answering any questions asked as they go. Importantly, Jim McGuinness has deepened his squad, something which caught them at the tail end of the championship in 2024.
