“It’s like listening to Yoda,” Min Woo Lee said about his caddie, the Down native Bo Martin, after he won the Houston Open.

Last Sunday night in Houston, Australian golfer Min Woo Lee did what most of us have done at one stage or another, and hit his golf ball underneath a tree. It was the eighth hole of his final round, and Lee, in the hunt for his fifth career win, was clearly intent on following his “no regrets” strategy of going all in on everything, regardless of the consequences.

Surveying the pickle he had got himself into, Lee dropped to his knees and performed a curtailed practice swing, sans club. Some spectators clapped encouragingly, no doubt enthused by the prospect of some Seve-style magic. His caddie, Bo Martin, stood behind him, initially trying to ignore what his player was doing, lest watching would be interpreted as an endorsement.
