Kieran Shannon: Exhausted Clifford finally gets his rest - and Kerry should lengthen it

Defeat for East Kerry last Sunday means David Clifford is finished his football year early for once.

He’s never been finished this early before. Maybe now he’ll get that break we’ve long talked about and maybe he himself has longed.

Since David Clifford started playing senior football with Kerry, his season has always extended beyond mid-October.
