C’est Ca can click
The highest rated horse in the contest is Rubi Light and the selection has to meet him on 10lbs worse terms compared to a handicap.
It is more than possible, however, that Rubi Light’s mark flatters him and he certainly compounded rather tamely when beaten ten lengths by Mourad at Punchestown, having looked a star of the future at Limerick previously.
C’est Ca, a smart juvenile hurdler, has clearly had his problems and was returning from a long break when making little show behind stable companion, Thousand Stars, at Fairyhouse in November.
He obviously came on a bundle for that much needed outing, though, attracting plenty of market support for the 30-runner MCR Handicap Hurdle at Leopardstown last month.
C’est Ca ran a cracking good race to finish third behind Puyol and Tawaagg and it is most encouraging Willie Mullins turns him out again so quickly.
Rocco’s Hall, reverting to hurdles, following a disappointing time over fences, and Hugo De Vindecy also have a life, but C’est Ca is still young enough to fulfil earlier potential and should go close.
Chasing Car’s form figures do not make for comfortable reading, but he still gets the nod in the N.I Hotel Federation Beginners Chase.
He made an excellent start over fences at Navan, third behind Sports Line, but it has been all downhill in the meantime.
At Leopardstown, Chasing Cars fell at the first and then at Punchestown last time he was travelling strongly - contest won by Citizen Vic - when departing four from home.
Hopefully, Jessica Harrington’s charge can finally get it together and a decent round of jumping will see him carrying far too may guns for this opposition.
