At the end of the Champions League final last Saturday night, Zinedine Zidane carried the famous trophy from the tunnel before placing it on the plinth. After shaking hands with the dignitaries, Zidane left the stage, briefly stopping to shake hands with a number of the Real Madrid players.

On the day that Madrid secured their 15th UCL, it was fitting that Zidane appeared on the scene, especially when he played such a pivotal role in Madrid’s dominance over the last decade, when winning six titles in 11 seasons.
