WHILE it is still a long way from the halcyon days of previous championship Sundays when the tar would be melting on the road in mid-July, this weekend has the feel of the first real heavyweight punches of the championship, with Kerry and Cork going at in Killarney, Derry hosting Donegal in Derry city and Mayo taking on Roscommon in The Hyde. 

We can worry about what comes next during the week, but for now I for one am planning on enjoying these games on their merit.
