There seems to be only a handful of resales at The Cedars section of Cork’s substantial Classes Lake development — just five since the early 2010s showing on the Property Price Register — now, here’s the sixth, all good to go.

Bought off-plans back in 2002 from developers O’Callaghan Properties (OCP), No 17 The Cedars is an owner-occupied three-bed semi facing a green, with an added-on attic room done in 2012, when the vendors also did upgrades to cabinetry and added a guest WC.

“The only part of the house not improved on was the kitchen, as our plan was to extend out to the large garden,” says one, as “we never imagined leaving, so the decision has not been an easy one and it’s with mixed emotions that we move on.”

Relocation closer to UCC was the prompt, hence No 17’s early autumn market arrival with agent Linda O’Donovan of Bowe Property and she guides the very well presented 1,210 sq ft three bed with attic room at €370,000.

The Property Price Register has the last Cedars resale at €345,000 back in 2023, while the adjacent No 18 sold as far back as 2014 for a recorded €231,000.

Various sections in the sizeable and well serviced OCP Classes Lake scheme just west of Ballincollig are named after trees or other greenery, and the Property Price Register records almost 400 resales since 2010 across most, under both Classes Lake and Classis Lake spellings, with the highest being for a detached in The Meadows when No 28 sold for €740,000 in 2024 (the Meadows development started in the late 1990s).

Rooms here at No 17 include a front sitting room off the side hall, with solid double doors to a rear kitchen/diner, plus guest WC. At mid level are two double bedrooms, one en suite, a smaller bedroom three or home office, plus a top floor bedroom with Veluxes and a landing.

With a C energy rating, and all-done attic room up top, No 17 the Cedars is ready to move into, with off-street parking, front and back gardens, shed, and scope for rear extension should new owners so wish.

VERDICT: A very good size inside and out for the sum sought, in a very well-settled scheme in the western suburbs of Cork City.
