No 52 Yewlands in Maryborough Woods is a 2003-built terraced house in a leafy cul-de-sac half way between the main Carrigaline Rd and Maryborough Hill.
It’s a three-bed ex-rental which has been spruced up nicely and is now catching the eye of families looking for a multi-way accessible base.
Cars and pedestrians can choose between routes linking to the Douglas Village or the Douglas Court sides of Douglas and there’s a bus stop 90m away. There are primary schools within walking distance and a choice of secondary schools within around 3km.

“It’s nicely laid out inside with a large sitting room with a bay window at the front, and at the back you have a kitchen with a big island separating it from the other living space,” notes Niamh Smith of Absolute Property Management.
The back garden is south-facing and private and the front of the house faces trees and shrubs as it’s nearly at the end of a one-sided cul-de-sac.

: Catching interest from families as this three-bed has a private parking space and is on popular bus routes.

You would barely guess the roots of Rockmount, a top-set detached stone-fronted dormer home on the highly-prized Sea Rd in West Cork’s Courtmacsherry village — it’s originally 1970s, but was significantly altered and upgraded in the 2000s to be what it presents so smartly as today.
Well-kept, with two ground floor bedrooms and three above, it has a C3 BER on a site of 0.38 of an acre.
You might guess its age/provenance from the company it keeps of similar era detacheds on the Sea Rd; a “sort of a millionaire’s row”, says selling agent Con O’Neill, who guides at €850,000.

At that, it’s one of the stronger offers around convenient Courtmacsherry, blessed as it is with lots of beach options and Seven Heads walks, with the Property Price Register showing just one sale locally in excess of €800,000 — a property at Signal Hill in 2024.
The price level hasn’t restricted viewing interest, Mr O’Neill indicates and says most interest so far is for holiday home use, and the village location, harbour vista (best appreciated from the added-on triple aspect super bright front room) and overall condition, plus mature site size of 0.38 of an acre.
Also on the Sea Rd currently is a 0.22 acre site with a €300,000 AMV via other agents.

What was once one of the ‘last’ houses in Douglas before you entered the countryside proper is now a centre- adjacent urban property; Lisaville is a three-bed cottage on Church Rd near the junction leading to Rochestown, Carrigaline or Maryborough.
Indeed it’s so close to everything in Douglas that map apps indicate it’s easier to walk (350m) to Douglas Court Shopping Centre than to drive (900m), thanks to a little pedestrian access at the end of the cul-de-sac where this cottage sits.
“It’s a doer-upper for sure but there’s great potential,” notes Stephen Clarke of REA O’Donoghue & Clarke.
“It has a fair bit of ground, if you demolish those sheds it would really open up the back and you’d see how much space there is,” the agent said.

He adds: “ This 1940s house pre-dates the Fingerpost Roundabout and is likely to qualify for the €50,000 vacant property grant as it has been unoccupied.”
The traditional cottage facade could be worth keeping even if the rest of the property is well worked over.
: A house in need of substantial upgrades in a handy location.
