Garden Digest: Winter flower demonstrations and gala events

• Clonakilty Flower Club will hold a flower arranging demonstration on Tuesday, November 11, at the GAA complex, Ahamilla, Clonakilty, at 8pm. Club members will give demonstrations on the night.
• Macroom Flower and Garden Club will host a charity gala floral demonstration by Melanie Harris (AOIFA), titled ‘Christmas Traditions’, on Thursday, November 13, at 8pm at Coolcower House, Macroom, supporting local charity Horizons Cope Foundation. Admission is €20.
• Youghal Flower and Garden Club holds its AGM on Wednesday, November 12, in the Walter Raleigh Hotel at 7.30pm. This will be followed by a talk, given by Sonya McGee of Ballymaloe, on growing and using herbs. On Wednesday, November 26, the club will hold its Christmas demonstration with Sandra Jackson (AOIFA) at 7.30pm in the Walter Raleigh Hotel. Admission €10.
• Glengarra Flower & Garden Club will host a Christmas gala demonstration with Harumi Langford (AOIFA) in Burncourt Community Hall, Co Tipperary, on November 13, at 7.30pm. Admission is €15. All proceeds go to Breast Cancer Ireland.
• Kinsale Garden and Flower Club meets on Thursday, November 13, at 8pm, at the Friary Centre, Kinsale, for a demonstration titled ‘The Wow Factor at Christmas’, with Eileen O’Brien. Visitors €10.
• Skibbereen Flower and Garden Club is marking the 55th anniversary celebration this year. It is hosting a dinner and demonstration with DJ Murphy, Bandon, in the West Cork Hotel, Skibbereen, at 6.30pm on Friday, November 14. • Cork Flower Club presents a gala demonstration ‘Deck the Halls’, with Ali Dietrich, in Douglas GAA Hall, on Tuesday, November 18. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The event supports Breast Cancer Ireland and Arc House Cork. Tickets, €20.
• Ladysbridge & District Flower & Garden Club hosts its gala Christmas demonstration ‘Believe in the Magic’ in the Garryvoe Hotel on Monday, November 17, at 8pm. All welcome. Non-members €10.
