The Water Margin Garden in Cappanacush East, Kenmare, will be open to the public, in aid of Cork Simon, during the August bank holiday weekend.

The private gardens will open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, August 2-4, between 2pm and 5pm each day. The gardens have a river, waterfall, cascades and beautiful Oriental features. Plants will be for sale and refreshments will be served. Entry is by donation to Cork Simon, at the gardens. Directions: 4.5miles/7km from Kenmare. Look for signs at Templenoe on N70. Parking nearby. The Cork branch of the Irish Wildlife Trust is holding a pub quiz on July 31 to raise funds. The Cork branch relies upon volunteers to carry out work on wildlife protection and awareness-raising. Projects include: protecting Beaumont quarry, a frog survey, a schools’ pack, a ladybird survey and an invasive species survey. The quiz will be held in Mr Bradley’s, Barrack Street, Cork City. Cost is €5 per person. Prizes have been kindly donated to us by: Blackrock Conservatory, Crawford Art Gallery, Millstreet Environmental Park, Source Health & Fitness, Coilte, plus many more.
