Save or Splurge: Two curiosity cabinets pique our interest
Fabrikör glass-door cabinet, dark yellow, left, and Woood exhibit metal cabinet.
This pharmacy-style Fabrikör cabinet from Ikea has been launched in a soft yellow this season that could read as a pale gold if you’re going for the relaxed 1970s luxury vibe. With splayed legs, it’s nicely steady and features two adjustable shelves in toughened glass.

Glazed all around, this cabinet takes up a small footprint and allows the wall colour to come through.
The Fabrikör cabinets all come with a lock and key to keep your pieces safe from little fingers, and look out for sale deals on other colours and sizes. See Ikea.ie.
Plaster pinks and browns are trending for 2027.
Dutch brand Woood offers these graceful powder-coated metal cabinets in a range of sizes, including this easy-to-accommodate, two-door Exhibit model.

Woood notes that differences in colour, together with slight unevenness, small cracks and visible welds, are characteristics that make each piece unique.
With this cabinet, there are a closed back and sides, making it ideal for internal lighting, and the cabinet can be banked. Shown here in tan, it’s made in Holland.
