Same builder, same era, same style

HERE’S one we prepared earlier? Except for a few minor changes, and a facade variation of brick and dash, there’s not much to separate Broadale and Thornbury, houses in Cork city.

Same builder, same era, same style

Both developments were built by McInerneys in the 1990s, and house hunters on the prowl around the greater Douglas area of Cork will find many similarities between the two, Sherry FitzGerald, second-hand offerings from the McInerney stable.

Just €10,000 separates the two in asking price, also: number 1, The Drive, in Broadale, along the top of Maryborough Hill, is guided at €340,000 (it’s the one with the lower brick facade), while number 8, Manor Downs, in Thornbury, up Coach Hill, above the Rochestown Road, is priced at €350,000.

The houses have around 1,400 sq ft of space and identical layouts, with four first-floor bedrooms and one en-suite off the front, master bedrooms.

Downstairs, there are reception rooms left and right off the main central hall, with kitchen/dining room running across the back of the houses, with a utility and guest loo by the side/back door.

Both houses have mains services and gas heating, wood windows, and good-sized sites, and each is a short, uphill journey out of the well-serviced Douglas suburbs, with access points, as well, to the south ring road network.
