Rock solid sales expected at quarry scheme

WHAT do you do with an old quarry when the digging has stopped? Dig a bit further, and then build up on it.

That’s what building and development firm O’Brien and O’Flynn has done on the western side of Ballincollig in Cork, where the finishing touches are being put on a scheme of 36 apartments.

And, in practical fashion, the location has supplied the development’s name, Old Quarry. Location is at Coolroe, near where the same firm has worked on a large scheme of houses Coolroe Meadows.

Sales at Old Quarry are to kick off in the next week with Trish Stokes of Sherry FitzGerald, who is to hold a launch Wednesday night next, 6 to 8pm for intending buyers.

Selling prices start from 210,000, for 24 two-bed units of 890 sq ft, while large end units of 930 sq ft will be at a higher level.

Ground floor units have patios, the upper levels have balconies to the back, away from the road and accessed via the kitchens.

The apartments have a separate kitchen area, living room 16’ by 13’, main bedroom en suite, and bathroom, with hall and hot press. Heating is by Gold Shield electricity, and the units have security intercom, fitted kitchens and recessed lighting, with parking to the rear.

Also being released by Sherry FitzGerald next week diagonally across Cork city is the next phase of housing at Ashmount Court in Silversprings.

Twenty five units are going on sale next week and prices will start at €155,000.
