Farmhouse gets the solid wood touch
That’s the case at Boulakelly, near the golf club on the Limerick road from Mitchelstown, by the meeting points of counties Cork, Limerick and Tipperary. Good carpentry skills got pressed into action in the renovation of the two-storey, four-bedroomed home on an acre site.
“This house is for people who appreciate the beauty of solid wood, used in abundance in this home,” says Lorraine Spillaine of Eyeopener Properties based in Fermoy.
It has new windows, Oregon pine staircase, some pine-clad ceilings and hardwood-beamed ceilings too, as well as some timber/Tudor touches on walls.
There’s a two-storey outhouse and stables, with further conversion potential. Rooms in the house include a living room with fireplace and patio doors, kitchen/dining with Sorn stove for heat and cooking, sun room, utility and guest WC, and four first floor bedrooms plus bathroom, all with wood floors.
