I THINK it is outrageous that Mike Franklin, supposedly a witness to the looting in New Orleans, stated: “To be honest with you, people who are oppressed all their lives, man, it’s an opportunity to get back at society.” (Irish Examiner, August 30).

The looters are obviously dishonest and have no moral values or they would not be looting. In fact, they are lucky to be living in America.
