Death crash report got the priorities wrong
A well-known hurler suffered a broken wrist in a crash which took the life of a son, brother, boyfriend and dear friend to many, Liam Cahill.
I and others were sickened by the sensationalism of such petty news as a broken wrist compared to the tragedy that has befallen a family in this locality.
One may look to pay respect to Liam, which would be a worthy thing to do, and tell those who did not know him what he was like and how he is going to be missed by so many. Liam would have put a spark in anyone’s day, were they lucky enough to have meet him.
Can you imagine how hurtful it must have been to his family and friends to see such coverage prioritising a valued member of a team who saw All-Ireland victory recently over a valuable human being whose death is a huge loss to many.
I do not know if voicing my opinion will make any difference, but I feel I have to take this opportunity to do so.
