Lighting up the course

WB O’FLAHERTY wondered (Irish Examiner letters, July 22) if golfers and caddies who smoked at the Irish Open would be open to prosecution as the golf course is their workplace.

This is not the case as the ban only applies to enclosed workplaces, so people like Darren Clarke can puff away.
