CAN I point out to Deputy Arthur Morgan (Letters, January 26) that the multinationals which have set up in Ireland over the past decade and created one million jobs do not choose Ireland because of the music, craic and the thousand welcomes.

They look at several different competing locations and choose the one where profits can be maximised. It is essential that our low corporation tax is maintained if we are to continue attracting these companies.
