I WAS pleased to read the letter headed ‘Splitting Irish into two subjects is the answer’ by Daithí Mac Cárthaigh, president of Conradh na Gaeilge (Irish Examiner January 27).

The reason is that in November 2005 I sent a very similar motion to be included on the clár for the Sinn Féin árd fheis which is due to take place later this month.

Naturally, I’m heartened to note this valued support.
