Hard rock for hard times

WE’RE deafened from the endless hype about the next big thing in teenage pop bands.

Hard rock for hard times

There’s so much rubbish doing the rounds it makes me nostalgic for some of the wonderful Irish acts of yesteryear.

Remember Auto da Fe, Those Nervous Animals, The Fountainhead and Cry Before Dawn.

These bands gave us pleasure in the bad old days of the 1980s.

Alas, they didn't make it big, but they left their mark for others to follow. Sadly, the same can't be said for manufactured pop bands.
