Hurlers will not have to hold their drink

I WAS greatly amused during the week by the remarks of the Cork senior hurling team who feel they must be interviewed holding a sponsored drink (value to them, €500) - or else they will stay silent after the Munster final on Sunday.

Hurlers will not have to hold their drink

May I assure them. I feel they need have no worries because they won’t have to face the cameras.

That exercise will be with Tipperary who, hopefully, are concentrating on preparing for the game and will turn their thoughts later to celebrating when they bring the cup home to Thurles and drink to their success, having played, in the words of Charles J Kickham, “for the honour of the little village”.
