US hawks swoop on European liberals

IT seems that in Washington the hawks whose feathers were ruffled over the frenzied case for war against Iraq are venting their wounded pride on some liberal European politicians who opposed the war, which is far from over.

One is the British MP George Galloway whose opposition to the US-led invasion gained him a seat at Westminster, forcing a shock 26.2% swing to the left.

So why is Washington spending so much valuable time and energy on who bought oil from Saddam? The man is in prison anyway and his assets have now been frozen by Bush.
