Subsidised Aer Lingus doesn’t serve us
In the light of their virtual abandonment of Shannon last year it seems that the nationally subsidised airline believes that it should only enhance Dublin services and to hell with the rest of us.
I believe that as long as Aer Lingus is funded by the taxpayer it should operate services which benefit the internal transport links of this country.
When the airline is privatised (and perhaps this should come sooner rather than later, seeing as most of the country is subsidising an airline which doesn’t serve them) then it can be free to make commercially-based decisions and act like Ryanair.
