I WAS delighted with the media reaction to the ‘new’ transport strategy announced last week.

The fact that most people saw this collection of rehashed plans as a blatant pre-election stunt shows the lost innocence of a nation that is sick and tired of broken promises, corruption, scandals and an ideologically bankrupt Government which seems only willing to look for a padlock a long time after the horse has bolted.

I was surprised Conor Lenihan was not invited to the platform to tell which ethnic foodstuffs the Government had in mind to exploit so that the projects could be completed.
