Stating the facts — not pointing the finger

IN his letter headlined ”‘Blind’ motorists are biggest threat to bikers” (Irish Examiner, August 16), Martin O’Driscoll did credit me with the main point of my letter (Irish Examiner, August 8) and I take most of his other punches on the chin.

Obviously we read statistics differently. The primary aim of my letter was to highlight, irrespective of who was responsible, the exceptionally high and unnecessary loss of life among a specific sector of road users.

I had no intention of blaming any group of vulnerable road users for accidents that were not of their making.
