Accept a fair offer

THE illegal nursing home charges resulted from yet another mistake by the Government.

But now hundreds of people who were charged the fair amount for their care want more than the €2,000 on offer. It seems they are trying to jump on a genuine legislative mistake.

All payouts have to come from the taxpayer anyway, and anything more than the earmarked €40m will simply be draining funds that could be spent elsewhere.
