The Irish Examiner View: A good answer
The pandemic has many consequences and, thankfully, some of them are positive. Not many, but some. The imperative of social isolation has concentrated minds in the search for ways to stay occupied, not to fall into a pit of isolation and despair.
The first few weeks brought early spring cleaning; the spuds were planted and evenings might have been spent catching up on missed films. All of this briefly enjoyed but an essential element was missing — human contact.
As ever, an answer has been found. The online quiz between family and friends is having its moment. They are transgenerational, they have to be to get the technology to work for the uncle and aunt who remember The Riordans.
They are, because everyone is in their home environment relaxed and fun ... and no-one needs to drive afterwards. And, unless the head of the household is an aggressively ambitious Tiger Mother, they need not be that serious.
Unless you can answer the question about how long this isolation policy will be in place maybe you should organise one. They can be fun — even in these dark, testing times.
