Fianna Fáil and Micheál Martin have declared if not victory then successful renewal in the aftermath of the local, European, and by-elections. New young councillors and an upswing in voter support after the Armageddon in 2011 are proof. In fact, the ultimate indication of recovery is convincing evidence that for Fianna Fáil, the rot has stopped.

In politics, it’s all about momentum. It is not about where you are; it’s about where you are going. For the first time since 2011, there are signs that Fianna Fáil is going somewhere instead of nowhere.
