Surrogacy debate set to continue

While the State has issued guidelines to parents entering surrogacy accords, the law has not been updated, writes Conall Ó Fátharta

IRISH law has no provision for surrogacy, despite increasing numbers of couples living here having a child through a surrogate mother in another country.

So it’s no surprise then that the publication of guidelines for parents entering surrogacy arrangements abroad have again led to calls for the introduction of legislation in the area.
