There was a time in my life when I travelled a lot between Cork and Dublin, and I always took the train.
I can still remember the joy of making the 7.30am out of Cork and, as soon as the train was moving, heading to the dining car for a full Irish breakfast. Sometimes you had to wait, because first-class passengers were served in their seats before the dining car was opened for us plebs.
