Give Sligo a university and centre of excellence

If one is to divide this republic of ours by a line joining Dublin City to Galway city there is no university above this line.

The absence of a university in Sligo meant it was the victim of academic arm-wrestling which placed four designated centres of excellence within 10 miles of the spire in Dublin City.

Surely it is time to end these anomalies and give Sligo (hospital and college) a proper title and role and end the penance of the people of our north western frontier.
