So radical left, deliver us from evil as promised

The fallout from the general election clearly shows a shift to the extreme left at the expense of the Labour Party.

So radical left, deliver us from evil as promised

The Labour parliamentary party now returns to Dail Eireann with significant losses, but most importantly, without speaking rights.

The radical left stole the left wing vote from Labour who, to their credit, all but self-immolated in order to rescue the state from near collapse. The radical left have promised to ‘deliver us from every evil’, not least water charges and homelessness. The reality is these promises were lies from the start. There isn’t a party in Dail Eireann, with the exception of Sinn Féin, who would do business with them. They have purposefully made themselves incompatible with any form of government.

I believe it is high time we allowed the radical left and independents form a government with Gerry as Taoiseach. They have promised enough, now it is time to give them an opportunity to implement their policies and to be responsible and accountable for the first time in their political lives. After all what could possibly go wrong?

Joseph de Maistre said “Every nation gets the government it deserves”. The electorate were offered stability, but voted for chaos. It is only fair that the electorate should now live in the chaos they venerate.
