Martin O’Quigley claims (Letters, 25 July) that the Irish-Palestinian Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) had nothing to do with the intimidation that forced Irish dancing schools to withdraw from an Israeli feis.

IPSC has no right to set cultural boundaries

At the July 8 Oireachtas Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs. Acting Chairman Olivia Mitchell referred to the IPSC as “a radical political group” that “had taken action that resulted in the abandonment of plans”. The Minister Flanagan stated the Irish government “does not support a cultural boycott of Israel”. The IPSC has no right to set limits on the spread of Irish culture.
