Crisis deepens - Calais chaos

The crisis in Calais is getting worse not just by the day but by the hour as thousands of migrants go to ever more desperate lengths to try to get into the UK.

The French authorities are struggling to cope while hundreds of truck drivers — many of them Irish — face threats not just to their livelihoods but to their very lives.

It is only a matter of time before an Irish lorry driver is attacked by migrants, many of whom are armed with knives and other implements.
