Immigrants bring cultural vibrancy to our shores

Thanks to Terry Prone for making a very important point in her column (Irish Examiner, July 27). The foreign people who come to make their homes among us are the most valuable import Ireland has. Many of them will, if we’re lucky, become Irish citizens.

Immigrants bring cultural vibrancy to our shores

They bring cultural differences which fertilise our own. They bring colour into our lives. They brighten us and make us compete.

All these are good things. My personal experience of employing such people to do various jobs has been great. They do what they say, they don’t cut corners and when they leave the job is properly completed. Thank you Terry.
