As regards John Fitzgerald’s letter (Irish Examiner, July 23), from Inistige, Co. Kilkenny, to Lombardstown, Co. Cork, and throughout Ireland, there are hundreds of post offices offering many services to their communities.

Communities must lead fight to save post offices

Postmasters are paid on a fee-per-transaction basis — the viability of the business depends on this.

So, come on communities. Let’s do it. Let’s each get out and save our own post office and let’s not wait until the horse has bolted.
