Protesters must comply

The imposition of water charges became necessary because protesters and others failed to vote for the abolition of the Seanad, an institution that costs as much, if not more, to run than does the provision of a water supply nationwide.

Protesters must comply

In these circumstances, misconduct by water charges protesters towards politicians who have done a wonderful job in getting this country back on track against all the odds, is particularly reprehensible.

The Government was elected to ensure, inter alia, that people who pay their water charges do not also become liable for the charges of those who refuse to pay. Towards that end I expect that appropriate measures will be taken against water charges protesters and other non conformists to ensure compliance.
