Having three languages enriches life of students

The proposal by university heads to drop the requirement for students to matriculate in Irish, English and another language is retrograde and runs contrary to the Government’s policy of increasing the number of Irish citizens in EU jobs.

It also runs contrary to the commitment of all member states that citizens be conversant in their mother tongue plus two other languages.

Could these men of learning indicate the actual detriment done by current admission policies?
