No humanity in the West’s response to Isil

The genocide of Jews in the last world war was one of the greatest atrocities ever recorded.

No humanity in the West’s response to Isil

Was it much worse than the massacre of refugees currently taking place between Isil militants and Kurdish fighters at the town of Kobane near the Syrian/Turkish border?

Amin Fajar (38) a father of four who fled from Kobane to Suruc reported he had seen tens, maybe hundreds, of beheaded bodies and others had their hands or legs missing. He had seen faces with eyes or tongues cut out, a spectacle he will never forget. Another refugee, Belal Shahin described how Isil came into the villages, beheaded people and animals and took away the girls and animals leaving nothing.

Isil poses a terrible threat to Syria, Iraq and the wider region. The number of Isil fighters in Iraq and Syria is believed to be between 10,000 and 31,000. The Kurds number 375,000 and there are 275,000 active personnel in the Iraq army.

How, in the name of the Almighty, does the whole world block its ears and close its eyes to this desperate plight that only gets worse?

The major powers in the United Nations, Britain and US need to act justly and accordingly, restoring peace to this region where savagery is replacing humanity.
