Dehumanisation in Gaza

The Hamas/Israeli conflict has dehumanised the Gazan people. Dehumanisation is not new in war. 

In Vietnam, US soldiers were conditioned to refer to the Viet Cong as ‘gooks’, while during the Rwandan genocide, in the 1990s, the Hutus referred to the Tutsis as ‘cockroaches’.

However, the dehumanisation of Gazans has been more subtle and skilful.
