Dehumanisation in Gaza

In Vietnam, US soldiers were conditioned to refer to the Viet Cong as ‘gooks’, while during the Rwandan genocide, in the 1990s, the Hutus referred to the Tutsis as ‘cockroaches’.
However, the dehumanisation of Gazans has been more subtle and skilful.
Look at the quizzical and bewildered expressions on the faces of Israeli citizens, when asked if they felt empathy towards Gazans, after children had been killed. Hamas, for their part, have a more crude form of propaganda. They use the sight of dead children to push their own distorted agenda.
