Fire safety in the home - all in all an excellent result
Sometimes this process can be a tad sinister and underhand but not always so.
The news that a community-based initiative has greatly increased awareness around fire safety in the home cannot but be welcomed. So too the knock-on effect — firefighters are now more able to respond to cardiac emergencies.
Fire brigade recruits have given public displays in a safety roadshow about what it’s like to be caught in a fire, paying particular attention to convincing young people that taking the necessary precautions is well worth the effort. This has snowballed and parents are badgered into doing the right thing. All in all a result.
