Striking photograph

Wasn’t it funny to look at the photo on Saturday’s Irish Examiner of the striking Aer Lingus staff in their full length warm coats as they picketed yet again outside the loss-making Cork Airport on one of the warmest summer days so far.

Aer Lingus, who when they had monopoly of the Cork/London route, charged the highest rate per mile in the world until competition came along.

The staff on strike yet again want be fully wrapped up in their cosy summer electric blankets while the rest of the aviation world flies on.
