Culture, not vultures

May I make a comment re Limerick City of Culture, and thank all those positive people who will go forward and create a superb year of fun, art, culture, history, etc.

Let’s show our city of culture and not of vultures. Might I take this opportunity in thanking Patricia Ryan for her strength and the ladylike way she addressed the baying crowd at a meeting at the Clarion Hotel.

I wonder if the same attitude would apply if she were a man? We at the Frank McCourt Museum have begun our first project for the young people of Limerick, for the city of culture.
