This is no time for posturing

Re: Fergus Finlay’s “Let’s be honest, . ’medical card probity’ is an excuse to save money” (Opinion, Oct 22) — you bet it is, and if Labour ran the show they’d have to do exactly the same. If not, they’d be irresponsible.

This is no time for posturing

This underlines the grim situation we face. If Finlay really wanted to point the finger of blame at the right people, he should push for the trial of the bankers who set everybody up. They’re the ones responsible for the suffering that now expresses itself in unavoidable cutbacks.

But no party will grasp that nettle. They’d rather posture like Finlay.
